Born in Nagoya City. After majoring in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he/she aspired to become a composer, inspired by a passion for choral music. He/She graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts and its graduate school. He/She studied under Yoshio Mamiya, Akira Miyoshi, and Teruyuki Noda. His/Her music is characterized by delicate and sensual melodies, and dynamic soundscapes created by systematic yet energetic rhythms. In recent years, he/she has shown interest in the mystical workings of nature, expressing in his/her works the idea of perceiving both sound and compositions as living organisms while immersing himself/herself in nature. He/She is currently a Visiting Professor at Tokyo College of Music, a part-time lecturer at Toho Gakuen School of Music, and a board member of the Japan Federation of Composers. His/Her awards include first prize at the Geneva International Ballet Music Composition Competition, the Bekku Prize of the Kenzo Nakajima Music Award, and the Grand Prize of the Arts Festival (for the CD "Fujin Raijin").
