Born in 1971. He graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris after completing doctoral studies at Elisabeth University of Music. In 2002, he won first prize at Avant-Scène (France) and second prize at the Japan Society for Contemporary Music Performance Competition. In 2003, he received a special prize at the Gaudeamus International Competition for Interpreters of Contemporary Music, and as a member of the “Tokyo Gen-On Project,” he was awarded the 13th Keizo Saji Prize. His performances include those with Ensemble Ictus, Music Fabrik, and Ensemble Intercontemporain, as well as appearances at festivals such as Agora Festival and Résonances Festival (IRCAM). He has established a solid reputation as a prodigious tuba virtuoso, with notable Japanese premieres including B. Stern's Tuba Concerto Sacrifice with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kazuyoshi Akiyama, H. Lachenmann's Tuba Concerto Harmonica with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra conducted by Norichika Iimori, and M. Smolka's Tuba Concerto Still Life with Tuba with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra conducted by Yoichi Sugiyama. He is also active in the early music field, frequently performing with the serpent, an ancient instrument originating from 16th-century France. His compositions include Nocturne for solo voice (2006), Grimoire for flute quartet and serpent (2007), and Strait for baritone and tuba (2010).
