Ivanovici (1845?–1902) was a Romanian composer who also served as a military bandmaster. This piece is an arrangement for piano solo of a work originally composed by Ivanovici for an orchestra he himself organized. It begins with an introduction, followed by four waltzes, and concludes with a brilliant climax in the finale. The introduction first presents a melody in Allegro moderato, 2/4 time, played by the left hand. Subsequently, in the latter half, it shifts to Andante, 4/4 time, with the melody played by the right hand. This melody reappears in the First Waltz, transformed into 3/4 time. The subsequent waltzes, such as the Second Waltz (Allegro vivo) and the Fourth Waltz (Allegretto), present diverse characters. The finale begins with a section characterized by tremolo, similar to the right-hand part in the first half of the introduction. It then transitions to C major, after an intervening waltz in A minor. The concluding section of the entire piece is again characterized by tremolo, ending the work impressively in C major with the tremolo.
