I have intentionally presented two pieces that adopt the style of other composers this time. I hope that this will allow listeners to concretely experience my assertion that "there is no boundary between one's own work and the work of others." The idea that there is room for others to pursue an original work even more deeply than the original composer, and that doing so does not diminish respect for the original composer or one's own artistic statement—this is an important stance for performers to adopt.
The "Impromptu" is modeled after the first piece, "Complainte" (Lament), from Moszkowski's late period (Paris era) work "3 Pieces, Op. 87" (1909). While maintaining the same tonality, it reconstructs the twilight atmosphere and the subtlety of polyphonic pianism without direct quotation or collage. (April 4, 2021) Kanazawa Setsu
