It is in A major and in binary form.
- A [a (measures 1-4) + a1 (measures 5-8)]
- B [b (measures 9-12) + a1 (measures 5-8)]
Note: The piece is in binary form because a Da Capo al Segno instruction at measure 16 directs a return to measure 5, concluding at measure 8.
In section a, the left hand begins one measure later. At this point, the left hand is not an accompaniment but an imitation of the preceding right-hand melody. Therefore, the piece has a polyphonic structure. Particular attention should be paid to the nuance of the left hand in the first half of the section.
Unlike section a, section b moves in parallel motion between the left and right hands. Here too, the left hand accompanies more like a duet than a mere accompaniment.
