C major, binary form.
- A [a (measures 1-4) + b (measures 5-8)]
- B [c (measures 9-12) + a (measures 13-16)]
The main motif consists of two eighth notes on the same pitch ascending by a third. Combined with the bright harmonic quality of C major, this evokes a joyful and bouncy image, fitting for the piece's title. Although wedge-shaped staccato marks are written, these do not signify staccatissimo but rather a slight emphasis. Simultaneously, to convey a rhythmic impression as part of the melodic figure, a nuanced adjustment of expression is required.
The four measures from measure 9 consist of stepwise ascending and descending motion. Although no articulation is marked here, it is not necessarily required to play everything non-legato; articulation should be considered in accordance with the harmonic movement and changes in pitch and melodic figures. In this regard, there are aspects that align with articulation practices in Baroque-era works.
