Assume the theme begins from F in the soprano in bar 1 and extends to E on the first beat of the soprano in bar 4. The theme modulates to C minor once during the piece but quickly returns to F minor. The second subject begins in bar 4 and extends to C in the right hand on the first beat of bar 9.
In other sections, long sequences follow (bars 9-14, 15-17). These sequences should be utilized based on the desired dynamic level of the subsequent C minor section. For example, if the C minor section is intended to be piano, use the descending sequence to create a diminuendo. If the C minor section is intended to be forte, apply a crescendo from bar 15 onwards.
Observing the left hand, for instance, when the second subject is played again (e.g., bars 24-25), it descends two octaves to C, which would have been the lowest note on the keyboard at the time. This signifies strong emotional expression, so aim for a dramatic performance.
