Points to Note
As this is dance music, a light tempo and articulation are desirable. Connect the first to the second beat with a legato, and cut the second beat short with a staccato. The third beat should also be cut with a staccato in the same manner.
A primary concern pertains to the left-hand fifth finger. In this context, the left-hand fifth finger plays the bass line, which must be louder than the melody. To prevent the bass from being missed or sounding faint, avoid striking the key with the fifth finger extended straight like a rod. Instead, use a proper finger shape. Initially, strike the key at fortissimo to help the finger memorize its position well and to strengthen the finger itself.
Of particular concern is the F-sharp (Fis). As this is a black key, it is narrower and higher, making proper striking of this note crucial. When playing only F-sharp with the fifth finger, ensure that the finger does not wobble at the moment of striking. If wobbling occurs, repeat the striking action numerous times (with the correct form) and continue until the wobbling ceases. Success is achieved when a solid, resonant sound is produced.
