This is a simple two-part Gigue that concludes in an instant. Rather than ending with a thick texture typical of a final movement, it is a light, agile, and vibrant Gigue with thin lines. Therefore, the quarter notes on the downbeats in the left hand should be played staccato to avoid heaviness. Measures 1-4 have a repeat, so it is necessary to vary the dynamics or articulation in the second playing compared to the first.
The form is ABA, with A returning at measure 15. Although the composer's score does not include a repeat marking at the final measure 18, some editions include a repeat.
Regarding the B section, the tension increases compared to the A section. In this Gigue, the peak points of the B section differ between the left and right hands. The peak point for the upper voice is at measure 10, where the highest note, C, is reached.
On the other hand, the peak point for the lower voice is at measure 6, where the lowest note, E, is reached, and a considerable forte is permissible here. The tension may be higher than at measure 10. Consider it a 'pleasant surprise.'
Finally, measure 18 may conclude with a crescendo to forte.
