This is a large-scale minuet that evokes the image of an orchestral tutti. In measures where three quarter notes are aligned, the note on the first beat should be slurred to the note on the second beat, and the second and third beats may be played staccato.
Of particular note are the two quarter notes written from the third beat of measure 3 to the first beat of measure 4. They are chords, not octaves. You may play these particularly loudly. Doing so will create a contrast with the phrase in measures 1-3. Similarly, the two quarter notes from the third beat of measure 7 to the first beat of measure 8 should also be considered the same material as the aforementioned two chords, and thus played strongly. The same applies thereafter.
There will be a total of four phrases; vary them through dynamics. For example, play the first quietly, the second stronger than the first, the third (which reaches the highest note, D) the strongest, and the fourth with a diminuendo, returning to approximately the same volume as the first. This is merely one example, but please try to be creative and avoid playing all four phrases in the same manner.
