No. 9: D minor, 2/4 time, Allegro

This etude is for rapid, repeated octaves and quick shifts. The difficulty level is high. In the p (piano) sections, it is effective to play with the wrist as the fulcrum, imagining swinging the palm downwards.

It is important not to tense up, but be careful as the sound will not be produced if the fingertips are too soft. In the f (forte) sections, shift the fulcrum to the elbow, and it becomes easier to play by using one large burst of energy to play through the passage in a single breath.
