This Bourrée might at first glance appear to consist of an endless repetition of the same rhythmic and melodic patterns, with little variation in pitch. Let's analyze it ourselves and construct the piece. The following is an example of such an analysis.
First Half
Let's consider up to measure 10, where the repeat marking is, as the first half. From measure 1, it ascends to a peak at measure 3 and then descends at measure 4, so let's consider this as one unit.
Since this was a 4-measure section, if we follow another 4 measures from measure 5, we end up with an extra 2-measure section, measures 9-10. Observing the phrase, it gradually ascends from measure 5, reaching a peak at measure 9. In the first half, bring out measures 3 and 9 as peaks.
Second Half
The second half makes sense when considered in 4-measure units. Let's consider measures 11-14 as one unit. Therefore, if we consider the melody in measure 15 (D H Gis Cis) not as a continuation of measure 14 but as a new phrase, then in measures 15-18, two 2-measure phrases appear as descending sequences, as shown below:
- 1 D H Gis Cis A Gis Fis Cis FIs
- 2 D H Gis Cis GIs Fis E H E
The final phrase spans measures 19-23.
The overall mood is extremely optimistic. Play it fast and joyfully.
