Composed as a new work for the 2014 PTNA Piano Competition (Grade E). It is in an irregular three-part form with a clear recapitulation, and its musical ideas consist of a slow section, a fast section, and another slow section.
Regarding pitch organization, while tertian chords (or triads) are used at key points in the work, the primary harmonic structures are quintal and quartal chords. The semitonal sliding of their individual partials creates a diverse range of sonorities. The melody presented in the slow sections is highly ornamental, evoking the sound of a flute-like wind instrument.
