Composed around 1898, when she was about 13 years old. Along with Lied ohne Worte (Song without Words) Op. 5, Schmetterling (Butterfly) Op. 6, Menuett (Minuet) Op. 7, Impromptu Op. 9(a), and Lied ohne Worte (Song without Words) Op. 10, it was published in 1902 by the Harmonia publishing house in Budapest as part of Sechs Klavierstücke (Six Piano Pieces). These early works clearly show the influence of Romantic composers such as Mendelssohn (Lieder ohne Worte), Grieg (Lyric Pieces), Tchaikovsky, and Schumann (character pieces). Each piece, with its very simple and naive style, highlights Dora's clear, youthful, and fresh sensibility.
Although it is unknown to whom this work was dedicated, a printed score remains with her handwritten inscription: "In memory of happy days in Našice, Našice, July 25, 1903, from Dora." A melancholic gondolier's song is sung over a wavy, triple-meter accompaniment in the left hand.
