Canzone da Sonare refers to a song performed by instruments, structured in a three-movement form that includes sonata form. The three movements are Prologue, Intermezzo, and Finale (chant fugitif - Fleeting Song).
- Premiered by Hiroaki Takaha at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan in May 2003.
- In 2005, the third movement, Finale, was performed by many young pianists as a required piece for Grade F of the PTNA Piano Competition.
- Since its premiere, it has been performed not only in Japan but also in the United States, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, and other countries, receiving critical acclaim.
- The score is published in Concert Piece Collection 2005 (Kawai Publishing).
Movement 1
Expresses momentary or contemporary tension through the development of improvisational motifs from a gentle opening.
Movement 2
Aims for a romantic movement with familiarity and depth, while also pursuing a modern sensibility.
Movement 3
(Subtitle: Fleeting Song) Intended to evoke a musical idea where several impressive yet transient songs revolve as if in a dream, within a rapid tempo. In sonata form.
