Born in Nagano Prefecture, he/she began playing the cello at the age of six.
After attending the High School attached to the Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, he/she graduated from the Faculty of Music of the same university. He/she received the Encouragement Award at the 2000 Sapporo Junior Cello Competition and Second Prize in the String Instrument Division at the 2001 Nagano International Competition. He/she has participated in the Salzburg Festival, YBP Music Festival, Beethoven Academy, among others.
He/she has studied under Tetsuo Shohara, Károly Bodóbay, Fumiaki Kono, and Kaoru Hanazaki. Currently, in addition to performing as a soloist, in chamber music, and with orchestras, he/she also serves as an instructor at PTNA Chamber Music Seminars and other events, and is involved in teaching younger generations.
