A four-hand piano duet playable by elementary-level learners. The title is French for 'pale pink' (baby pink). It consists of three very short pieces:
- 1. Plaisanterie (F major)
- 2. Valse (G major)
- 3. Mazurka (C major)
The Primo part, which carries the melody in two-hand unison, is particularly easy, at the level of Méthode Rose. The Secondo part is slightly more difficult than the Primo, supporting the Primo with chordal accompaniment. A humorous atmosphere pervades the entire work, making it enjoyable for adults as well. While tonal, it incorporates irregular chords, lending it a contemporary feel. It is also suitable for players of moderate ability to sight-read together. It can be used for recitals, as a light interlude in concerts, or as an encore. Dedicated to Natalie Burtin. A junior orchestra version also exists.
