Not published during the composer's lifetime, this piece first appeared in "14 pièces pour piano" (Musik Fabrik, 1998). A separate harp version is also available for sale, but its content is identical to the piano version, making it effectively a piece for both piano and harp. It is a short piece suitable for learners, employing Tailleferre's characteristic neoclassical technique. The work skillfully captures the eclectic polyphonic and homophonic characteristics found in Scarlatti's sonatas. The tempo is half note = 88, beginning in G major and concluding in C major. Its bright and cheerful character is appealing. Although the number of notes is small, expressing its stylistic essence requires a stable technique comparable to Czerny's 30 Etudes (Op. 849). It has been selected as a piano syllabus piece for music examinations abroad, and its future popularization in Japan is anticipated.
