Stravinsky composed two piano sonatas.

This Piano Sonata in F-sharp minor is an outstanding student work, composed by Stravinsky when he was 22 years old (1903–1904). This was also a period when he was receiving composition instruction from Rimsky-Korsakov, and influences from composers such as Chopin and Liszt can still be observed. It adheres to the tradition of Russian pianism and possesses a Romantic style.
