Memories of My Kobe Days (1913?)
The autograph manuscript Ms.338 is housed at the Japan Modern Music Archive.
Alongside "Impromptu," "Serenade," and "Sonata Extasie," which Yamada never completed, this piece was reconstructed and completed by the promising composer Masanori Enoki in 2022.
Commentary by Masanori Enoki
It begins with very profound music, a fragment that conveys Yamada's spirit. From measure 17, it enters a section with considerably unstable tonality, and various motifs also appear. Yamada's original extends up to measure 46. It is presumed that Yamada abandoned its completion due to an excessive number of accidentals and motifs, but I completed the reconstruction by carefully tracing the tonality.
