This is a collection of three original pieces for piano four hands. While at the Burgmüller level (late elementary to early intermediate), the pieces are effectively written to resonate well with a minimal number of notes. They are easy to use for recitals and other performances. In particular, the first piece (A French Waltz) is often performed individually and is widely played by learners in the United States. It possesses a romantic and stylish musical character, with an expansive breadth and depth that one might not expect from its simple score. It is a rare and exceptional masterpiece. It is certainly a piece that should be valued and used frequently in Japan as well. The second piece is a rustic, bagpipe-like tune, and the third is a very relaxed, country-style piece that is charming whether played perfectly or not. This collection is dedicated to Dallas Weekley and Nancy Arganbright. In addition to their vigorous performance activities as a piano duo, the couple supervised the publication of piano duet scores at Kjos publishing house at the time (1997).
