This work was written for a “Duo-Recital” held in January 1980, featuring violinist Kenji Kobayashi and composer-pianist Toshi Ichiyanagi.
The work implicitly contains a personal “distant memory of the past” related to the music of these two individuals from the 1950s and 60s. The violin part features an interplay of soft sounds (unreality) and loud sounds (reality), while the piano part performs a “circular motion” of infinite soft patterns consisting of 22 notes.
