From the Composer
Regarding "Ginka Kurage" (Silver Coin Jellyfish), this piece was composed in 2012 as a new work for an eurythmy performance. Although the creature known as Ginka Kurage is named a 'jellyfish' (kurage), it is, strictly speaking, an organism closer to a colonial hydra. While it lacks swimming ability, it floats and extends translucent tentacles in all directions, embodying a beauty and precariousness akin to a silver coin. I composed this piece by focusing on chords that 'spill out' in various forms from a relatively static central tone.

Performance Tips
When performing, if you feel the changing colors of the chords and a sense of floating, it will evoke the image of jellyfish floating in the sea, bathed in light. The transitions from chord to chord should not always have the same nuance; it is advisable to play with an organic freedom, incorporating curved, gentle movements, as well as straight, abrupt, or surprising movements. Regarding the performance, the composer, Mr. Kawakami, has stated that the passage leading to the recapitulation (b.32) may be played slowly and suggestively.
