The origin of the title is intriguing. It stems from two letters exchanged when Rosenblatt first corresponded with his close friend, Oleg Sinkin. "LO" refers to the first Letter received from Oleg, and "LA" refers to the first Letter sent by Alexander. By combining these two "letters," the name "Lola," with its oriental resonance, was born. The work itself also carries an oriental flair. Outside of Russia, it has been performed in Germany by Sinkin and the composer himself.
