First, before performing this piece, it is highly recommended to listen to Vivaldi's original work. There is a difference between listening to this piece performed solely on the harpsichord and listening to the original. And when performing it on a modern piano, I personally suggest emulating the string ensemble of the original.
While listening on the harpsichord might convey a somewhat rigid impression, the string ensemble is remarkably smooth. It does not linger unnecessarily on certain passages. Furthermore, it provides valuable insight into how to differentiate between the dense 'tutti' sections and the 'solo' passages.
Regarding the character of this piece, the author felt that the original possesses dignity, beauty, and joy, rather than an image of sadness. The overall impression is not one of rigid stiffness, but rather of music where soft sounds flow smoothly.
When performing on the piano, please maintain such an image, avoiding extreme dynamic ranges, preserving the tempo, and playing with a soft and smooth character within those parameters.
