The original version was composed in 2003 for clarinet and piano. This work incorporates various masterpieces by Rimsky-Korsakov, including "Flight of the Bumblebee," the symphonic suite "Scheherazade", and the operas "The Golden Cockerel" and "Sadko". It dates from a period when Rosenblatt was actively composing virtuosic and brilliant works. Completed in June 2004, it was premiered worldwide by the present authors in March 2005 and dedicated to Mr. Kazuhiro Hoshikawa.
