Similar to the Polonaise in G major, this is a work by the 7-year-old Chopin.
In these two early works, the influence of Michał Kleofas Ogiński's polonaises can be observed. At the time, the polonaise was a popular genre for home performance. Among these, Ogiński's polonaises written for piano were particularly fashionable, and it is said that Chopin's mother also enjoyed playing them.
