Measures 1-7 clearly employ the French Overture style. For those unfamiliar with the French Overture, please research it. A characteristic feature of the French Overture is its sharp dotted rhythms. For instance, even if the notation shows a dotted eighth note followed by a sixteenth note, the actual performance often involves shortening the timing, similar to a double-dotted quarter note followed by a thirty-second note. This creates a sense of grandeur and dignity.
Perform with a feeling full of dignity.
For measures 8-29, determine the peak points and play with a clear sense of direction. The atmosphere changes depending on the articulation, so experiment with various approaches. Regarding the right-hand line, the author would personally play it more legato than marcato, but this is a matter of choice. Ensure that sequences vary in dynamics and timbre, avoiding monotony.
If the opening 7 measures are slow and measures 8-29 are at a moderato tempo, then for measures 30-91, let's try to play at the fastest possible tempo. While this requires a certain level of technical skill, the faster the tempo in these measures, the higher the tension will be.
