The second movement progresses almost entirely in two voices. Due to its two-voice texture, musical expression becomes more challenging. Although written polyphonically, it is clear that the right hand carries the important melodic line. Therefore, one crucial aspect is the balance between the melodic line and the accompaniment. Always emphasize the melodic line while playing the accompaniment discreetly.
Next, attention must be paid to the issue of repeated notes. Patterns of the same note repeating three times, such as in the right hand of measure 7, appear elsewhere, including in the left hand. When these repeated notes occur, it is particularly important to avoid heavy articulation and to keep the volume considerably subdued to prevent a sense of weight.
Even in the trio section, measures with these three repeated notes appear for more than four bars.
The entire second movement is a light and sprightly minuet, and like the first movement, it contains no serious elements whatsoever. The key is how to make it sound enjoyable and light.
