It is correct to consider this a variation of the preceding movement, the Sarabande. While differences should be introduced, such as in the placement of borrowed chords and modulations to D minor, similar to the Sarabande, fundamentally, this Double should be conceived as consisting of six phrases, each two measures long.
It is recommended to play this Double in a way that conveys the elegance and joy of F major. Therefore, choose a tempo faster than that of the Sarabande.
While the same tempo as the Sarabande is acceptable, avoid playing it slower than the Sarabande.
Looking at the score, when considering two-measure units, a chord is written in the left hand on the first beat of the first measure; therefore, it is appropriate to imagine the first beat of the first measure as strong, with the rest gradually decaying. Only for the final measures 11-12, the opposite applies: direct the phrasing so that the third beat of the second measure, i.e., the final beat, becomes larger.
