The musette is a type of French folk music, but the term also refers to the instrument from which it originates. Imagine the instrument as an oboe. The melodic line feels perfectly suited to a melody played by an oboe. Furthermore, there is also a bagpipe-like instrument, also called a musette. Before playing this piece, please listen to bagpipes and oboes. It will be very helpful.
Observe the left-hand accompaniment pattern. As a pedal point, D is constantly sounding in the bass. The upper voice merely repeats the pattern C B A G A B C B A G A B. This evokes the image of a bagpipe.
It is important for the performer to faithfully adhere to the dynamics. The form is ABA. While the B section is where the tension rises, it is desirable for the A section to be played plainly and flawlessly. Imagine an instrument, not a song.
