Haydn's works sometimes express a technical and ornamental beauty reminiscent of Franz Liszt, which seems uncharacteristic of the Classical era. This first movement is one such example. This first movement is a piece that can transport the audience to another world when played with elegance yet in an awakening manner. First, regarding the tempo, it should be set such that the fine notes, such as 64th notes, from measure 15 onwards can be played and heard effortlessly. "Heard effortlessly" implies the necessity of a tempo and articulation that allow the listener to clearly distinguish which notes are sounding and how many, even when the pedal is used. Ensure that each individual fine note is clearly audible and not obscured by the pedal or other factors. Another crucial aspect is directionality. For instance, from measures 10-12, a subtle change in volume leading towards measure 13 is desired; be careful not to make it flat. The same applies to the development section, measures 34-39. Essentially, convey a sense of moving towards measure 39. Above all, try to play this first movement consistently with "elegance, lightness, and technical brilliance."
