This Gigue also features many chromatic progressions, suggesting it expresses sorrow. While the term "gigue" is sometimes said to imply "frolicking" or "rejoicing," this particular Gigue certainly does not convey such a feeling.
When there are long descending melodic figures, gradually control the dynamics to prevent them from becoming monotonous.
The main keys of the piece are E minor and its relative major, G major. Performers should vary the atmosphere, tone quality, and volume between E minor and G major to create contrast.
Throughout the piece, there are several descending sequences with two voices (soprano and alto) in the treble clef, similar to what is seen in the right hand of measure 2. Taking measure 2 as an example, it is crucial that when listening to this right-hand passage, you absolutely do not perceive it as F#-D-E-C-D-B-C-A. Ideally, aim for independence of voices by clearly bringing out the soprano line (E-D-C-B-A) and minimizing the alto voice that enters on the beat while the soprano sustains.
