Believed to have been composed in 1878. As indicated by the German instruction "Anmuthig lebhaft" (gracefully lively), it also possesses brilliance. It is a pianistic work employing arpeggiated figures and a wide range. The ending of the piece, similar to the final movement No. 4 of the first collection, concludes with an even more brilliant ascent into the high register.
