《Music Box-Style Piano Pieces》 is the final collection of piano works compiled by Miyoshi in his later years. The collection comprises 14 pieces, including familiar Japanese children's songs and nursery rhymes, arranged in a "music box style" utilizing solely the piano's high register. Miyoshi's distinctive beautiful harmonic progressions, unexpected melodic superimpositions, and at times sharp, contemporary sonorities are particularly striking. While other arrangements of well-known melodies exist, such as the 《Suite for Two Pianos "Four Seasons of Songs"》, this stands as his sole collection of arrangements for solo piano.

At the outset of the score, the composer's sentiments regarding this collection are articulated as follows: "《Like a Music Box》: During a 'lesson' at my alma mater elementary school, I discovered that the highest register of the piano resonates like a music box. Although some pieces within the collection incorporate middle-voice music box sounds, the acoustic directionality remains consistent. My hope is that it can be enjoyed with innocence, even at gatherings involving adults."

Furthermore, the publisher's official website states, "Although primarily intended for solo performance, it can also be executed as a duet, with separate individuals playing the right and left hands respectively." Consequently, this collection can be regarded as a body of work that can be enjoyed by a wide audience not only in educational settings and recitals but also in various everyday contexts.
