"Ethno-logue" is a title meaning something akin to "folk tale." The work unfolds around "Nobi" (Wildfire), a poem by Murō Saisei set to music by Hagiwara Sakutarō. The "original 'Nobi'" manifested a distinct Japanese sensibility. There is a haiku by Takino Hyōsui: "Do not pick it, leave it in the field, the milk vetch." In light of this recent musical adaptation, I made an effort to ensure that the beauty of the original work would not be lost.
