Kinoshita had suspended orchestral composition since the mid-1990s, but returned in 2010 with "Breathing Earth" (premiered at "Orchestra Project 2010"). The Piano Concerto is his second work since his return to orchestral composition. It is an orthodox-style concerto in three movements, a work that attempts to maximize the charm of the piano as a complete instrument, without relying on special playing techniques, against the backdrop of a diverse orchestra.
