Commissioned for the second volume of the four-volume piano collection "Le Piano à travers les siècles" (Piano Across the Centuries), supervised by Gérard Meunier and Christine Meunier.
Although the first piece of the "Trilogy" published by the same Combre company bears the exact same title, this is a different composition.
Allegretto, 2/4 time, C major.
Within a clear and gentle flow, a sudden melancholic shadow intrudes. The richness of colors shifts moment by moment.
The ending, which steps forward positively into the beginning of a new day, is also noteworthy.
Although it is written at a difficulty level roughly equivalent to Czerny Op. 299 (Czerny 30), one might not realize it is an educational piece unless explicitly told.
It is likely to become a repertoire piece for a wide range of players, from students to professional performers.
