K. 102 Allegro 3/8 G minor

The first half modulates to the dominant key. The harmony of the sequences beginning from measures 25, 33, and 41 can be analyzed as an alternation between the dominant's diminished seventh chord and the tonic chord; however, the tonality is ambiguous because the diatonic note C of G minor appears on the weak beat. Immediately after the repeat sign, a modulation occurs using the motif from the beginning of the piece, and from the deceptive cadence in G minor in measure 65, the section from measure 11 onwards of the first half returns. Measures 71-78, corresponding to measures 17-24, are rewritten as a C minor sequence with an eighth-note accompaniment figure.
