Even the speechless beasts of the four directions / Possess a heart of compassion; / How moving it is / For a parent to think of their child. — Minamoto no Sanetomo, Kinkai Wakashū The waka cited above expresses, through solemn language, the profound emotion that even speechless beasts instinctively possess compassion for their offspring. In this work, I aimed to evoke universal parental love by entrusting it to the bulbul. The depiction through the bulbul was designed to be easily understood by children when accompanied by visual elements. In these times, as we witness tragic events, there would be no greater joy than for this work to be broadcast, heard by many, and resonate with their hearts.
