The opening phrase has a structure of 9 (5+4) measures. It is interesting that the motif of these initial 5 measures, which form an asymmetrical structure, is combined in different ways as formal units at the beginning of the piece and after the repeat sign. At the beginning of the piece, since measures 4-5 are a repetition of measures 2-3, the 5 measures can be expressed as 1+2+2. Here, measures 2-3 form a single unit, and measure 1 appears to be an added measure. However, after the repeat sign, conversely, a sequence is formed with measures 1-2 as a single unit.
