This work was composed at the commission of Ms. Satoko Tsutsumi. It was premiered by her in September 2005 at the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory in Russia, and its Japan premiere took place in the same month at her recital at Matsukata Hall in Kobe. It has since been performed repeatedly.

Inspired by the dream seen by Kenreimon-in at Akashi-ura in Harima Province, as depicted in The Tale of the Heike, Chapter on Initiation (Kanjō no Maki) <Discourse on the Six Realms (Rokudō no Sata)>, this work attempts to trace the transformations (henge) and transmigrations (tenshō) of what might be called the "Six Realms of the Sea."

Thirteen small sections, including six transformations, form a mandala-like structure within a large continuum.
